University-Associated Organizations
Twenty-three UVA-related University-Associated Organizations support the University’s mission, strategy, and operating goals. Each UAO is unique in its objectives, yet all share a vision to promote the University as one of the preeminent public institutions in the nation. The relationship between the UAOs and the University is articulated in the following University policy: BOV-008: Relationship with University-Associated Organizations (formerly known as University-Related Foundations). The Director of User Success and Services is responsible for managing compliance with the policy through the annual certification process that runs from November to March each year. In the annual certification, each UAO reports on: 1) any changes to their Articles of Incorporation or ByLaws, 2) disclosure of compensation payments totaling over one thousand dollars to University employees, 3) any changes to the nature, purpose, or scope of the UAO, and 4) provides a completed audit with unqualified opinion. The Director of Business Services and Systems serves as the primary liaison between the UAOs and the University.
