Updated Amazon Purchasing Guidelines for UVA Finance Partners
We heard your feedback and updated our approach to better support your needs while maintaining compliance.
Effective September 1, 2025: New Amazon Purchase Policy
All Amazon purchases made with a T&E card must be for non-local shipments only.
This refers to shipments to addresses outside Charlottesville or off-Grounds UVA locations. This change allows departments to ship to remote employees, off-site labs, and other non-local destinations.
What This Means for You
Local Shipments (UVA / Charlottesville Addresses)
- All Amazon purchases shipping to UVA or Charlottesville addresses must use the Amazon punchout in UVA’s Marketplace.
- T&E cards should NOT be used for purchases shipping to these local addresses.
Having trouble with deliveries to your UVA address? Email us at AskFinance@virginia.edu with the delivery address and specific instructions — we’ll help update addresses and reduce misdeliveries.
Non-Local Shipments (Outside Charlottesville/UVA)
- If purchasing for delivery to non-local addresses, you may continue to use your T&E card via UVA’s Amazon Business website.
Reimbursements
Starting September 1, 2025, Amazon purchases will no longer be reimbursable.
