Gregory Overton, Senior Payroll Specialist, was recently featured on UVA HR's Year One Stories. Recently, Ajoni-Wynn Floyd, Community Engagement Coordinator for Supplier Diversity, represented UVA at two big events. She attended the 2025 Chamber Day at the Capitol, as a part of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce for a day of advocacy and discussing priorities for maintaining Virginia's CNBC ranking as the top state for business. Additionally, Wynn-Floyd attended an event for the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, hosted by the Minority Business Alliance, where a presentation was given on streamlining operations through AI, Automation, and Integration Solutions. “I celebrated four years with UVAFinance this January, and I’ve enjoyed every moment on the Financial Reporting Team. When it was time for me to take the next step, Yvonne Metheny was my rock—encouraging me every step of the way. It was a tough decision to leave her team, but with her support and knowing my desire to grow and learn more within UVAFinance, I felt ready.
When I saw the opportunity in Business Assets & Cost Recovery, I knew it was time. I even met with the team informally before interviewing, and my excitement grew. Fun fact: I had actually worked with most of the team before! When I first started at UVA, I split my time between Financial Reporting and Fixed Assets, so it felt like the perfect fit.
With bittersweet emotions, I applied and was thrilled to be offered the role. Now, I’m excited to have joined the OFP&A team, working with the Cost Recoveries group and Katie Walker’s team. Everything I know about Katie and Andrew tells me I’m in for an exciting new chapter!”
